I generally agree with the sentiment that bankers have historically raped and pillaged the system and been unjustly rewarded for their behavior, and that this has got to stop.

What Apple is doing is being kind to the thief and cruel to the true owner. As the article states, that's the unintended consequence of having a relaxed policy on warranty exchanges.

JS is absolutely right. There will inevitably be a huge backlash against Facebook and other imitators who want to control your personal information and how it gets disseminated. Once disclosed, that information can never be unwritten, withdrawn or erased.

What is your point? This was an announcement by an independent scientific board that was hired by the U.S. government to determine whether there was a safety defect in the Toyotas. It was their conclusion, not Toyota's.

@Eric: Let's not insult rats by comparing them to politicians. I've had pet rats, and they are quite affectionate and intelligent creatures; qualities sorely lacking among those that run for office.

Geowil: Perhaps if those currently unemployed with 4 or more TV sets hadn't been so profligate or spent all of their time dumbing down in front of the boob tube when they still had a job, they would have more money today and be better prepared to get a new job.
